Last May, Kylie Jenner filed an application for the global trademark of her first name “Kylie”, but now the 18-year-old reality TV star is embroiled in legal battles with pop star Kylie Minogue, who has also filed to trademark that name.

E! reports that the 47-year-old Grammy Award winning singer filed an application on February 22, to stop the youngest Jenner from claiming ownership of that name in the United States.
In her opposition notice which was filed by her Australian representative, Kylie Minogue maintains she has been active in the entertainment industry since 1979, has had her website www.kylie.com up and running since 1998, and that she has her logo ‘Kylie’ for goods and services which include fragrances, jewelry, clothing and live performances. As such, granting the 18-year-old Kylie Jenner’s wish will “violate and diminish the prior and superior rights” of the singer.
In addition, Kylie Minogue states that Kylie Jenner’s goods and services will deceive her fans into thinking it is associated with the Minogue legacy.
