This morning, a coaster bus carrying gallons of fuel lost its brakes on the slope at James-Oni/Lamina Lawal in the Isolo area of Lagos. It brushed against cars parked along the road as the driver struggled to control it, before ramming into another car and a concrete wall.
Not long after this impact, Naij reports that the bus burst into flames, and the driver and some of the occupants were evacuated.
Fire Service Department officials arrived shortly after to quell the fire, but one person was confirmed dead.
Meanwhile, residents and passersby got into a stampede in their bid to escape the raging inferno which consumed properties nearby, and reports confirm that many people were injured.
