Kelechi Iheanacho made his Uefa Champions League debut for Manchester City on Wednesday, playing less than two minutes in their 3-1 win against Dynamo Kiev at the Stadion NSK Olimpiyskiy.
The Nigerian’s first appearance in the Europe became a reality after replacing injured Sami Nasri in the competition.
Iheanacho came off the bench in the 90th minute for one of the Citizens’ goal scorer, Sergio Aguero as they secured a valuable away win in their round of 16 outing against Serhiy Rebrov’s men.
And he looked sharp during his brief outing in a game that saw his team one leg in the quarter final of the Champions League.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men bounced back from their humiliating defeat to Chelsea, with Aguero requiring just 15 minutes to open the scoring with David Silva getting the second strike.
Yaya Toure then headed wide from just five yards out but soon made amends to put City in the driving seat with the goal of the game in the dying minutes, playing a neat one-two with Fernandinho before bending a shot left-footed beyond Shovkovskiy from the edge of the area.
