According to DailyMail, Dawn was found dead in the Motor City Trailer Park in Detroit. Police reports have confirmed that the 40-year-old died of “an apparent heroin overdose, pending a toxicology test.”
Eminem and Dawn, who is the twin sister of his ex-wife Kim, had been real close since she was young. She is also the birth mother of Kim and Eminem’s daughter, Alaina.
Dawn had apparently revealed her fight with drug addiction and had reportedly disclosed that the Slim Shady rapper and her sister did nothing to help her situation: ‘I have a millionaire brother-in-law and a sister with money up the ass.’ she had stated
She also revealed that she had called her sister Kim once in August last year to help her when she was homeless, but she refused to help.
In an interview last year, Dawn’s boyfriend revealed that she was using different kinds of drugs from heroin to cocaine and Adderall.
Dawn and Kim moved in with Eminem when he was just 15 and had lived with him and his mother after they ran away from home as teenagers. It was during their stay Eminem got into a relationship with Kim and then married her in 1999.
Kim and Eminem got divorced in 2001 and remarried again in 2006 for just four months before finally calling it quits.
