APPLY FOR LAGOS STATE 2015/2016 POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Lagos State Scholarship Board invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the state postgraduate scholarship award scheme for the 2015/2016 academic session.

Overview of Lagos State Postgraduate Scholarship.
All applicants are required to make a Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship through the Office of Special Adviser on Education, Alausa Secretariat.

Then take the treasury receipt to the Lagos State Scholarship Board to secure their secret voucher pins for online application. Application will not be processed without evidence of treasury receipt. 

Application deadline is 1st April, 2016.

Lagos State Postgraduate Scholarship Requirements / Eligibility.
1.      All applicants must have gained full time admission into an accredited Nigerian tertiary Institution for postgraduate studies (Masters or Doctorate).
  
2.      All Post-graduate applicants: 
i.       Where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g University of Ibadan) he /she must possess a minimum of 4.9/7.0 
ii.      Where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g University of Lagos) he /she must possess a minimum of 3.5/5.0
iii.      Where applicant is a medical student a minimum of Credit is required in their result  

3.      All applicants must be in their first year or above 

4.      All applicants must have completed LASRRA Registration 

5.      All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba

6.      All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective local government 

7.      All applicants must purchase a Scholarship application form. (Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship) through the Office of Special Adviser on Education, Block 5, 3rd Floor, Alausa Secretariat.  

8.      All applicants must upload clear scanned copies of all documents to ascertain the genuineness of their claims. Documents like:    
i.       Admission Letter 
ii.      Valid ID Card
iii.     Letter of identification from Oba
iv.     Letter of identification from Local Government                                                            
v.     SSCE result
vi.      Lagos State Resident Registration Agency(LASSRA) registration card                                                        
vii.     Passport Photograph (clear background not older than three months).                                                             
viii.    Progress report from school stating results clearly

9.      Shortlisted applicant must participate in a Computer Based Test on 12th and 13th April, 2016 conducted by Dragnet Solutions Limited in conjunction with Lagos State Scholarship Board. 

10.    Successful applicants will be contacted for oral interview

Lagos State Postgraduate Scholarship Method of Application.
1. Before you start this application, ensure you have secured your Voucher pin from the Scholarship Board office and have clear scanned copies of the following documents:

Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
Treasury receipt of N2,000 for the scholarship form
Admission Letter
School Identity Card
SSCE certificate
Letter of identification from Oba
Letter of identification from Local Government
LASSRA Registration card
Progress report from school stating results clearly
2. Ensure that information are filled accurately to avoid mix up after application 
3. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents during upload
4. Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload  

To apply, follow the steps below: 
1.    Click on “Apply Now” tab. 
2.    Click on “Register Now” to create an account. 
3.    Proceed to your email box to activate your account 
4.    Click on www.scholastica.ng/schemes/lssbpostgraduate  to return to Scholarship site 
5.    Enter your registered email and password to upload your information. 
6.    Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, other information and upload required scanned documents. 
7.    Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise. 
8.    Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to eliminate errors during uploading. 
9.    When asked to upload photo, upload a pass-port photograph with a white background. 
10.  Recheck application information to avoid errors 
11.  Click “Apply Now” to submit information and provide the secret voucher pin and LASSRA Number in the appropriate column
12.  You will receive an email and a sms that confirms your application was successful. 
13.  Return to www.scholastica.ng, enter your Email and Password to download your profile and proceed to have your Head of Department sign the document. 
14.  Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, this would be used for verification.
15.  Keep the hard copy of the signed profile, this would also be used for verification. 

To secure your voucher pin proceed to the Lagos Scholarship Board office, 254 Ipaja road, Agege, Lagos and show them your treasury receipt.

Note: Multiple applications attract a disqualification penalty from the Scholarship board.

Masters Scholarships for International Students at Malmö University, Sweden

This is to bring to your notice Masters Scholarships for International Students . Malmö University – Sweden, is offering 75% – 100% tuition fees scholarships for all international students from any country outsidethe European Economic Area / Switzerland commencing Masterdegree in academic year 2016 – 2017. This scholarship program will cover tuition fees for 1 (one) academic year and can be extended for 2 years program subject to academic performance. Scholarships are available for all students who have applied for English taught Master program at Malmö University. Please note that this scholarship program will only cover your tuition fee, but not your living, travel, and other expenses during your study.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Scholarships available for Master programs only.

SUBJECTS / FIELD OF STUDYS
Scholarships available for any subjects taught in English offered at Malmö University.

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS
Successful candidates will receive 75% – 100% tuition fees scholarship.

DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIPS
Masters Scholarships for International Students are available for one academic year and can be extended for the second year subject to progression criteria.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the Scholarships for International Students, applicants must meet all the eligibility criteria below:

Applicants are welcome from any country outside European Economic Area / Switzerland.
Applicants must meet all the entry requirements for the Master program.
Applicants must meet the English language requirements.
Scholarships only available for students commencing study in academic year 2016 – 2017.
Applicants must rank Malmö University as first priority in their application for admission.
NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
Around 20 (twenty) Masters Scholarships for International Students are available every year for this program.

NATIONALITY
Scholarships available for all students from any country outside European Economic Area / Switzerland. There is no other restriction on nationality.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants will be assessed based on academic merit and motivation.

APPLY FOR 2016/2017 FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BILATERAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT (BEA) SCHOLARSHIP




Applications are invited from interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2016/2017 Nomination Interview for Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards for:

• Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Algeria, Serbia, Hungary, Egypt, Turkey, Cuba, Romania, Ukraine, Japan, Macedonia; and

• Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, e.t.c.

FIELDS OF STUDY

• Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), etc; and

• Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and Ph.D) in all fields.

Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Awards are scholarship awards made to eligible Nigerian youths after due process by development partners who have entered into Bilateral Educational agreement with Nigeria. These offers could be at the Undergraduate or Post Graduate or both levels as the case may be.  The duration of the scholarship offer ranges from 4- 9 years depending on the level of study and the country.

In Bilateral Educational Agreement countries, Awardees study the language of the country in their first Year and this constitutes the language of instruction throughout their study. It is pertinent to state that performance in the language course determines the continuation of the course of study for which the award has been made.

Eligibility Criteria for BEA Award

Undergraduate Scholarship:

All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Five (5) Distinctions (A’s & B’s) in the Senior Secondary School Certificate, WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than Two (2) years old (2014 & 2015). Age limit is from 18 to 20 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship:

All applicants must hold a First Degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division. The applicants who are previous recipients of Foreign Awards must have completed at least two (2) years post qualification or employment practice in Nigeria. All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.

Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one year foreign languare of the country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction; and

• All applicants for Hungarian Scholarship must visit the website: www.stipendumhungaricum.hu.

VENUE OF INTERVIEW:  All eligible applicants are to report for interview at the venues scheduled for their respective Zones of origin for proper identification. Two sets of the Printed Completed application forms are usually submitted at the various interview centres with the following attachments:

• Two sets of Photocopies of Educational Certificates and Testimonials of previous schools attended with the originals for sighting;

• One certificate is accepted i.e WAEC of May/June only; • Statement of results must be confirmed by WAEC and forwarded to the Director/Secretary, Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja;

• Two copies of Birth certificate

• State of Origin/LGA certificate duly signed, stamped and dated;

• Four (4) passport sized coloured photographs on white background;

• Academic transcripts and NYSC certificates will be required from applicants for Postgraduate Studies. NB: Candidates nominated and finally selected by the awarding BEA countries will be required to submit to Federal Scholarship Board the following:

• Photocopies of Authenticated academic certificates;

• Data page of current International passport, and

• Specified Medical Reports & Police clearance certificate.
