Falz Releases Music Video For 'Soldier'

With the recent release of the short video film accompanying Soldier, Falz’s second duet with Simisola Ogunleye (SIMI), it can be said that both musicians are guilty of the Midas touch.

To keep up with the success of Stories That Touch, Falz’s sophomore album and one of the best musical albums of 2015, early this year, he teams up with Mr Clarence Peters, the ace music video director, to make a film of almost 15 minutes.

The short film dwells on recent happenings and many of the scenes are reminiscent of the popular Academy snubbed Beast of No Nation film scripted from the eponymous book written by Uzodinma Iweala. Falz stars as chief lieutenant or sergeant whilst Simi plays the role of his village love interest/school teacher.

This video is almost reminiscent of the video for Simi’s breakthrough song Jamb Question, but it is longer and clearly more ambitious. It begins in the middle, a popular trick, with scenes of the kidnap of six females including Simi from an unnamed location presumably in western Nigeria, and an ensuing rescue mission led by soldiers.

Soon enough, a tender love story of promenade between a soldier and a civilian village girl is told. It is comical with Falz deploying his Television friendly alter-ego, Brother Taju, speaking with his H Factor.

This is expected especially from Falz who recently clinched Best Comic Actor at the AMCVA and performed the song, Karashika, a tribute to a film of same name made in the 90s.

Rapper Eminem left in shock after sister-in-law dies from drug overdose

Popular American rapper, Eminem, has been left in a state of shock after his sister-in-law, Dawn Scott, reportedly died from drug overdose on Tuesday.

According to DailyMail, Dawn was found dead in the Motor City Trailer Park in Detroit. Police reports have confirmed that the 40-year-old died of “an apparent heroin overdose, pending a toxicology test.”

Eminem and Dawn, who is the twin sister of his ex-wife Kim, had been real close since she was young. She is also the birth mother of Kim and Eminem’s daughter, Alaina.



Dawn had apparently revealed her fight with drug addiction and had reportedly disclosed that the Slim Shady rapper and her sister did nothing to help her situation: ‘I have a millionaire brother-in-law and a sister with money up the ass.’  she had stated

She also revealed that she had called her sister Kim once in August last year to help her when she was homeless, but she refused to help.

In an interview last year, Dawn’s boyfriend revealed that she was using different kinds of drugs from heroin to cocaine and Adderall.

Dawn and Kim moved in with Eminem when he was just 15 and had lived with him and his mother after they ran away from home as teenagers. It was during their stay Eminem got into a relationship with Kim and then married her in 1999.

Kim and Eminem got divorced in 2001 and remarried again in 2006 for just four months before finally calling it quits.

Kanye suprises Wife

He's one of the biggest names in rap - but will Kanye West be able to make it past the American Idol judges?

The rapper hit reverse on his career for one day to surprise Jennifer Lopez and her fellow talent show judges with an impromptu audition.

"My name is Kanye and I'm from the south side of Chicago," Kim Kardashian's husband said in a teaser for the show, which will air in the US in January.

"I'm originally a producer, always wanted to rap but no one really believed in me. I wanted to try some things out, you know."

"So, are you nervous?" a voice off screen asks before the Yeezus star takes his spot in front of the panel which includes J-Lo, Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban.

Ever the doting wife, Kim K is on hand to support her hubby and is seen standing outside the audition room.

"I'm not nervous 'cos i do really believe in him," she giggled.

Let's be honest, he's Bound 2 make it through to the next stages. And if it All Falls Down, at least Kanye's got a MASSIVE career to fall back on.
